Week 10: Natural Light

I took this picture around 10 AM last Sunday. What struck me most about the light that day was that was sunny and bright, but never felt too hot - the color temperature itself was rather cool! I never would have noticed this if it weren't for our class. The light was bright and the sky was clear - a perfect SoCal day - but the light was never so bright that it hurt my eyes. The light was cool, and this quality made it soothing. I particularly enjoyed its interplay with the pale green tree, forest green tree, and blue sky. It brought a relaxing, serene, and peaceful warmth to the scene - it was calming. The colors were only accentuated by the light. Overall, I just noticed how color and light can play together to create a sense of calm and how odd it was that such a bright day is not particularly a "hot" one in terms of color quality.
