The sun is good for people in many ways. It provides humans
with 90-95% of their daily dosage of vitamins as well as reduces the risks of
certain cancers and illnesses. Sunlight also increases the level of Serotonin,
which is a hormone that makes people feel happier and more energetic (“15
Reasons Why the Sun is Good for You”). I recently took this picture in Middle
Earth, my housing community in which I live during the current school year.
Seeing the light reflect off the buildings and surround the trees makes me feel
at peace. I find more joy in life and, in my personal opinion, I am always more
optimistic when the sun is shining. Not only does it brighten my day but it’s
easier to get out of bed in the morning. The light from the sun has a calming
affect that ironically wakes me up compared to the harshness of my alarm.
Lastly, the light from the sun and the heat it carries, always gives my friends
and I an excuse to see each other. It brings us together in a way that the
absence of sunlight fails to do.
